Numerical study of the turbulent natural convection of nanofluids in a partially heated cubic cavity

چکیده
In this work we study numerically the 3-D turbulent natural convection in a partially heated cubic cavity filled with water containing metallic nanoparticles, oxides, and others based on carbon. The objective is to compare effect of addition nanoparticles studied also position partition heat exchange by type geometry, which can significantly improve design systems for better space optimization. For have treated different volume fractions two cases where respectively vertical horizontal strip middle one walls. To take into account effects turbulence, used standard k-? turbulence model. governing equations are discretized finite method using power law scheme offers good stability characteristic flow. results presented form isothermal lines current lines. variation mean Nusselt number calculated positions as function fraction Rayleigh numbers. show that carbon-based intensify influences convection. fact, an improvement average more than 20% observed case horizontal.
